Recipe: how to cook Chinese food, Sesame Ball
Sesame Ball has lots of different names in China according to various regions. In the north and northeast, it is named ma tuan or ma yuan. People in Guangdong call it jian dui. It is an old traditional characteristic fried pastry.
INGREDIENTS:
- glutinous rice flour 200g
- Sugar 50g
- warm water 140g
- Sesame
- Stuffing (optional): Red bean paste, icing sugar, peanuts and sesame, black sesame, purple sweet potato, etc.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: melt sugar in warm water. mix glutinous rice flour.
Step 2: make a dough.
Step 3: divide into several small balls. you could put some stuffing.
Step 4: roll balls in sesame.
Step 5: heat the oil to 90℃ around. fry the sesame balls.
Step 6: the sesame balls float up when the oil temperature is 150℃ around. press down with a sieve. repeat several times.
Step 7: fry to golden colour, the sesame balls become larger.
Step 8: transfer to a bowl and drain the oil. DONE❕
