Recipe: how to cook Chinese food, Sweet and Sour Ribs
Sweet and Sour Ribs are a typical traditional dish that is popular among the sweet and sour flavours. It uses fresh pork ribs as the main ingredient, the meat is fresh and tender, and the colour is red and lustrous.
INGREDIENTS:
- pork ribs 500g
- cooking wine 15ml
- soy sauce 30ml
- rock sugar 15g
- vinegar 60ml
- star anise 1
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: clean the ribs.
Step 2: chop the ribs and prepare other ingredients.
Step 3: put the rib into boiling water until it turns white.
Step 4: drain the ribs.
Step 5: heat 1 spoon oil, put ribs in and stir-fry to golden colour.
Step 6: add cooking wine, soy sauce, rock sugar and vinegar.
Step 7: stir evenly. pour some hot water and put the star anise.
Step 8: boil around 30 minutes with lid covered, until ⅓ water left.
Step 9: turn to high heat. keep stirring until the sauce is thickened. (you could add some salt as you prefer. if you want a dark colour looking, you could add some dark soy sauce.) DONE❕
