Recipe: how to cook Chinese food, Fried Radish Ball_fried vegetable ball
Fried Radish Ball is a famous dish in the north of China, belonging to Shandong cuisine. It is a popular dish in festivals, especially in Chinese New Year.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 white radish (or red radish, green radish)
- 3 carrot (optional)
- 400g coriander (optional)
- 5g ginger
- 10 cloves garlic (optional)
- 1 spring onion
- 2 spoon Sichuan pepper powder
- 3 spoon salt
- 500g flour
- q.s. five spice powder
you also could put some tofu or meat as you prefer
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: peel carrot and white radish.
Step 2: wash the coriander.
Step 3: shred carrot and white radish. mix well.
Step 4: put finely chopped ginger, garlic and spring onion.
Step 5: chop coriander.
Step 6: put coriander and mix evenly.
Step 7: put five spice powder, Sichuan pepper powder and salt.
Step 8: add flour into five times or more. stir evenly until it becomes to the following state. it is a little bit sticky, it’s normal.
Step 9: make the ball by hand or spoon. if by hand, you could put some water or oil on hand, in case the balls stick on hand.
Step 10: heat oil to 60~70℃. there will be some bubble around the ball, and the ball can float, these mean it is the right temperature.
Step 11: fry until the balls float up and turn to the golden colour. DONE❕
