Recipe: how to cook Chinese food, Braised Pork Rice
Braised Pork Rice is a snack in the Jiangnan area. Taiwanese braised pork rice is the most famous and is a classic snack in Taiwan. The cooking ways in different regions of Taiwan is also different.
INGREDIENTS:
- 500g Pork belly
- 1 Onion
- 2 bok choy
- 4 egg
- 5 Shiitake
- 1 spring onion
- 3 pieces ginger
- 5 cloves garlic
- 2 star anise
- 15g Rock sugar
- 30 ml Dark Soy sauce
- 25ml Cooking wine
- Salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: Prepare ingredients.
Step 2: prepare 4 peeled boiled eggs.
Step 3: adjust the amount of star anise and rock sugar according to your taste.
Step 4: clean onion and cut into slices.
Step 5: fry the onion over low heat until it turns to golden colour.
Step 6: drain and cool the fried onion.
Step 7: smash the fried onion.
Step 8: dice the meat and shiitake into small pieces.
Step 9: mince the ginger, spring onion and garlic. if you don’t like eat ginger, cut it into slices.
Step 10: heat oil and put meat.
Step 11: stir the meat until it turns white colour and the fat oil comes out.
Step 12: put shiitake and spring onion, stir-fry evenly.
Step 13: add dark soy sauce and cooking wine, stir-fry well.
Step 14: put the fried onion.
Step 15: pour warm water and let the water is over meat.
Step 16: add star anise and rock sugar.
Step 17: after boiling, transfer to a clay pot. if you don’t clay pot, skip this step.
Step 18: put the boiled eggs.
Step 19: add salt. turn to low heat after boiling. stew for 1 to 1.5 hours.
Step 20: stew to the soup is thick but not dry.
Step 21: put the bok choy into hot water until it turns bright green.
Step 22: prepare cooked rice.
Step 23: put the braised pork, an egg, and bok choy on the rice. DONE❕
